Just came across this today, and it looks like it was built and/or launched today, a decentralized podcast player.  DotPodcastPlayer has launched a podcast player for podcasts that you can use with Blockstack and Blockstack’s Browser (for full functionality).  According to DotPodCastPlayer (DPX), the player gives you the ability to search, subscribe and pay podcasters without being tracked or censored.

DotPodCastPlayer:

• is open source self-hosted platform
• allows you to quickly upload new episodes
  • migrate an existing podcast while supporting all the new features of the DotPodcast protocol.
• provides a legacy RSS feed, so you can still serve traditional podcast clients and directories.
• And, deploy your own DPX site – if previously hosted – by using Docker and letting DotPodcast protocol look after the technical side

We have not tried it at this point but it all looks very promising and a big step toward the decentralization for the podcast space.

By using Blockstack you now can control how you use and interact with the internet instead of worrying about how the internet interacts with you and controls you.  This is a big switch and a seminal tenet of the decentralized internet, dApps and the entire Blockstack design.  Blockstack has designed a new internet (distributed, blockchain) that makes the internet you use better.
